Google releases its Nexus smartphone

Google has started flogging its Nexus smartphone that is based on its Android operating system from its own website. The Google hosted web store will sell the Nexus and other Android related gear.
Manufactured by HTC, the Nexus One features dynamic noise suppression, a 3.7-inch OLED display and a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
It all runs on Android 2.1 and has a voice-enabled keyboard so you can speak into any text field, Live Wallpapers, a 3D photo gallery and more.
Not surprisingly it comes with a raft of Google applications, including Gmail, Google Voice and Google Maps Navigation.

You can buy the smartphone unlocked without operator service or with service from T-Mobile USA. At the moment it is not clear when Google will start selling its smartphone along with deals from UK operators. However if you want to buy one you can have the gadget shipped over from the colonies and get a Blighty SIM chip stuck in it.
