Sony Vaio CW Series

Sony’s final new VAIO announcement , is the VAIO CW Series, a range of 14-inch 16:9 aspect notebooks available in a series of moderately striking colors.  Chubbier than the VAIO X, certainly, the CW Series uses that extra heft to slide in an optional Blu ray burner together with NVIDIA GeForce GT230M 512MB or GT210M 256MB graphics and both VGA and HDMI ports.

There’s also an ExpressCard 34 slot, three USB 2.0 ports, FireWire, a couple of memory card slots, audio in/out and a webcam.  Storage is up to 500GB (there’s no SSD option) while RAM is up to 8GB, and you can spec up to a 2.80GHz Intel Centrino 2 CPU.  Color choices include black, blue, white, pink and the rather fetching red shown above.

Ports and Connections
Despite its 14.1-inch size, the Vaio CW comes with no shortage of ports and connections, including many we’re most accustomed to finding on desktop replacements.
* The left side offers two USB ports, an i.LINK IEEE 1394 connector, and two flavors of video: both VGA and HDMI.
* The right side includes yet another USB port, dedicated headphone and analog-in jacks, along with a ExpressCard slot for expansion and of course, a built-in optical drive (CD/DVD standard, with Blu-ray ) Around the front, you will find card readers for both standard SD cards and Sony’s proprietary Memory Stick Duo cards.

The power connector and Ethernet jack have both been wisely relocated to the back, where they flank the battery to the left and right. In short, there aren’t many things you can’t connect this powerful notebook to.

 Screen
Sony’s 14.1-inch LED-backlit screen looks absolutely dazzling. Resolution of 1366 x 768 provides plenty of room to spread out windows, and the LED backlight pumps out plenty of light for viewing in brightly lit conditions.

Speaker
Like most notebook speakers, the Vaio CW doesn’t deliver much oomf from the tiny speakers embedded just above the keyboard. We don’t ever expect notebook speakers to crank out a good rendition of Du Hast, but the little guys in the Vaio CW struck us as particularly anemic – easy to talk over, even at full volume, and hampered by distortion at that level as well.

Keyboard:
ColorThe keyboard on the VAIO Cw is quite amazing , keys spread out over 6-rows and the keys are full sized. each Keys are separated with space between them .  The key travel is decent and the touch is light.  The keyboard is really pretty firm too, there's a little bit of flex on the side areas, but nothing horrible and will be unnoticed by most.

The touchpad is very usable and just the right size. The mouse buttons are a good size too,

Gaming
In 3DMark06, the Sony Vaio CW achieved 3,523 3DMarks – a feat not terribly impressive beside true-blue gaming PCs, but again, respectable for a 14.1-inch notebook with this price tag.

    Poppy Pink
    Icy White
    Jet Black
    Royal Indigo

Incredibly light (1.6 pounds) and very sleek
    Reasonably priced
Supremely comfortable palm rest, trackpad and keyboard
    Attractive automotive-like finishes
    Solid build quality
    Crisp 14.1-inch LED-backlit screen
    Discrete graphics standard
    Perky desktop and video performance
    Respectable gaming performance

Small keyboard--and an even smaller touchpad

Awesome color selection to choose from ..

But not recommended for a serious gamer .. coz it lacks that extra edge required for gaming .

Though a good buy for the normal user.
